Any one know any bands as good as/musically close to TYR? I would love the input, I have all their Albums, and all of Amon Amarths albums....but i perfer the Folk Metal over the Black Metal. Thanks in Advance.

Hammerfall and Bathory are similar to Tyr.

The music video Rode to Asa Bay by Bathory located on Youtube is well worth watching.

Folk I'd suggest bands like Turisas as they have grunting, but it isn't a majority of the singing as they have a famous composer's son aiding in the compositions to make them more opera like. http://www.metal-archives.com/browse/genre/g/folk <---View here as they will feed you with all the metal of all types in a very organized manner. You want to look for folk/pagan to weed the grunting/over distortion/low budget sounds out that make up black metal ...very helpful. Unless you want dead on with Tyr as if so you'd have to look for Progressive/Folk Metal with: Norse Mythology, Paganism, Faroese/Nordic Lore like on their list...
"Scott Kelly United States Progressive Folk/Ambient/Acoustic Active
Blood & Time United States Progressive Folk/Ambient Active
Metal Cambra Spain Progressive Folk Metal with Classical influences Active
Percival Schuttenbach Poland Progressive Folk Metal Active
Ювиги Bulgaria Progressive Folk Metal Active
Kozaks of Metallishtan Finland Progressive Folk Metal Active
Kenitra Switzerland Progressive Folk Metal Active
Tumulus Russia Progressive Folk Metal Active
Ashtar Brazil Progressive Folk Metal"

Heidevolk is always good.
Falkenbach seems underappreciated, and Rabenschrey is one of the best.
Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin, and The Lost Vikings both seemed aimed towards our ways, though neither sound particularly Odinist.
Tyr, Heidevolk, Falkenbach, Rabenschrey, (some) In Extremo, all sound folk-ish
modern metal bands with lyrics aimed towards us, but a sound that's simply modern are different.
Amon Amarth, Enslaved, Schelmish, bands like those are in this category

Schelmish and Cultus Ferox fit into neither category but both are good too.

I'd add Lonewolf,Sabaton,Battlecross, Iron Fire, Ensiferum, Korpiklani, Finntroll,Morgenstern and Einherjar to the list

Also if you like the folk sound get Alestorm, they're a bit goofy with all their material being about pirates but good non the less

If you appreciate Amon Amarth than I am going to have to suggest Unleashed. They are a bit on the heavy side, but still talented musicians.

Surturs Lohe, Eluveitie, Arkona, Suidakra, Svarga, Ultima Thule, Windir, Falkenstein, Folkearth, Marțolea, Negură Bunget, Burzum

i know it's not exactly what you asked for but they're all either in deep conection with odinism or classified as folk/black metal bands

Check out Ensiferum one of my favourites, similar to Tyr.

Edit: I see that was just recently mentioned. Oh well. Worth pointing them out again. :)

Wardruna comes to mind.
