Why would you recommend Ralph Blum's book of runes to beginners? It is garbage.

How would you like to be informed, I want to be constructive in helping , rather than destructive, I want to bring you impartial advice but if overviewed your entire blog in one go it would be unhelpful.

Because it was the first book I read and that my parents had in our house. It is a common book that has been around for a few decades.

Mostly if there are authors or national organizations I missed. Again, I do not agree (or even disagree entirely) with some of the authors listed...but I didn't create the blog for people to agree with me, I created this post in particular to help people find their own path.

Different books will appeal to different mindsets- different authors speak more clearly to some than others.

What authors I do not like could be perfect for someone else. What authors I do agree with entirely may be insufferable to other people.

I also encourage people to create their own starting guides for people new to Odinism, and I would be happy to re-blog links (if I get enough of them) in the next post of those who have created such online guides on their own. I already linked to the organizations I am aware of as well as every author I can find online.

Why the Lokean?
Why make a negative reference to other religions?
Why use the Nine Noble Virtues?
Why reference the runes at all?

I find it useful, though with the link to the Futhorc I have a problem with the Kalc rune due to the Christian symbolism the I personally associate with a Chalice, but also it seems identical to an inverted Algiz.

Perhaps you should rename it "Odinism: A Personal View."

Probably not, in most cases. But in the case of Ralph Blum, if you are a serious Odinist, stay away...

Beginners may find this of interest - I haven't had a chance to go through it all but so far it looks simple and informative
