I dreamt I was in an place of drinking and merrymen amongst the greatest of old friends freshly made. A change was coming and we were drinking and toasting its arrival. Some knew more than others, but all were positive. We were bitter men drinking a bitter drink in the joyful knowledge that a change was coming from above and yet equally from below.

But because I was not yet ready to accept the truth of it, the party stopped and everyone went home with long faces, to be forgotten until the next time around.

This year I attended a great beer festival on my own to face my loneliness head-on. I spoke only to strangers.

It was wonderful.

So to revisit a dream... and rant a little for the sake of sanity.

It has come to pass - a sacrifice of neigh three years, to graduate through mankind's madness .. we are entering a world where danger and glory might matter again.

Those of us who are young and wild at heart, can pick our destinies again. The borderlands call us. There is real men's work to be done there. Men who love thunder and loath safety. Look at the world anew. Look at the old connections. Look at meso-america. Look at eurasia. See the potential in history, for the world is reborn. Speak a new language. Change yourself.

With love and thunder..

I wish you an interesting few years.

Care to elaborate? What do you see regarding borderlands? Why? And how might that benefit those who seek freedom?

I'll break it down. The vagueness allows for more personal interpretation, but I'll lay a few paths out for the purpose of sharing my viewpoint.

I live in a highly ordered world. Many of us do. Willingly, for our own safety. "Normieville" as it were. Excessive safety crushes personal opportunity. Human Socialism. This forum is such.

It is in the places away from states of high order that you find greater physical freedoms, the chance to lend metaphors to vision, that they become one and the same. Whatever borderlands means to you, that is up to you. It can be in your mind, in society, or both, or neither, but still... an experience transit from one state of existence to another.

Break the mold.

Thank you. Ideas did come to mind from your more vague post, but I was mostly curious about the physical, literal aspect of borderlands. You mention places like Eurasia, which is not too far from me, and I wondered if opportunities really could be found outside the highly ordered, beurocratic states, like Germany. What about places like Iceland, or remote areas in Scandinavia? Unfortunately, we are where we are for the sake of family. There are things I like about this country, but it is imperfect, and at worst it puts society into a cage. There are so many things I would like to do, but too many hoops to jump through, and I'm not willing to jump through their hoops. How to create the life I want while living within the confines of a highly ordered society...? It is a question I am often contemplating.
